Karmeliet Grand Cru Barrel Aged Edition Mizunara Oak · Tripel Distilled

In our relentless pursuit of perfection, we have taken Tripel Distilled to new horizons.

Where the arts of distilling and barrel aging harmonize, this limited edition transcends tradition. After a meticulous triple distillation, the essence of Tripel Karmeliet, enriched with its signature spices, is aged in Mizunara oak barrels. These oak trees require centuries to mature, making the wood exceedingly rare, and barrels that are fiercely difficult to craft yet revered for the depth they impart. The maceration is then gently infused back into the beer, creating a marriage of distillate and beer that reveals new depths.

The result is an exceptional beer with refined layers of delicate spice, subtle citrus, smooth vanilla, and an elegant woody character imbued with the rare complexity of Mizunara.

Mizunara oak is among the most demanding woods in the world. These trees take centuries to reach maturity before they can be shaped into barrels.

Their grain is loose resisting the hand of the cooper, and only the most skilled craftsmen can bend and seal the staves without splitting or leaking.

It is precisely this rarity and difficulty that give Mizunara its revered status. In time, the barrels bestow a refined depth and complexity, enriching the distillate with elegant woody notes, and smooth vanilla.

Each Mizunara barrel stands as both a triumph of craftsmanship and a vessel of rarity, carrying centuries of patience and mastery.

Notes of wood, citrus and vanilla

Every masterpiece deserves a pouring ritual to match

Open the bottle and take a moment to take in the refined layers of delicate spice, subtle citrus, smooth vanilla, and elegant woody notes. For the perfect serve, pour gently and enjoy at the recommended temperature of 6-9°C.

1. Tilt the chalice - Tilt the chalice at a 45º angle and hold Karmeliet Grand Cru horizontally. Slowly pour the creamy golden beer into the centre of the chalice, welcoming its exquisite aroma.

2. Pour gently - Gently tilt the chalice upright, allowing the head to gracefully spread from the top of the lilies to the brim.

3. Enjoy your sensory journey - All that remains is to leave 5mm of beer in the bottle to retain the rich yeast sediment. You can add this afterwards depending on taste.
